Another thing that bothered about this movie was how they talked about her feminine features. The (male) characters made sneaky comments about her breasts and other body parts. Younger kids wouldn't understand what they mean, but older kids and adults would. I noticed that all kid shows are getting more and more like this. I also cannot stand when characters almost curse. For example, when they say "Oh, SHH-arks" or something like that. I can't think of a good example. Sorry. Anyway, I agree wholeheartedly with the observations you made. Unfortunately, this movie isn't the only one like that. :( I think it will only get worse.

I am so happy to hear that the cake was a success, and that you have enjoyed other things from my blog as well. Looks like your son had a great birthday - what a cutie!

Sherrie,

I just read Jack's ant story...I am so glad he remembers about saguaros. Because I taught second grade, I've always been interested in the stories children write at that age. Can you send me a copy??

Hey Sherri - nice job on the skirt. Pattern sizes can be very frustrating. I usually have to compensate for boobs so make a much larger size and then have to be creative w/cutting to make it fit on my shoulders. Just look at finished measurements and remember it's usually easier to make things smaller than add to. Don't feel bad about the size - it seems you always have to go bigger w/Simplicity. McCalls are more true to size and sign up for JoAnn's mailing list - use the coupons all the time and stock up on patterns when they go on sale.

And, I know that you are an incredibly interesting person. Your family alone is a gold mine of "interesting" story material, not to mention the fact that you've lived and travelled in many places, you have great hobbies, interesting opinions, etc. I think many women, moms in particular, think they are boring or have boring lives, when in fact, the exact opposite is true and you are a perfect example of that!
