11 Things

This is day 11 in the Reverb10 Project.

11 Things:  What are 11 things your life doesn’t need in 2011? How will you go about eliminating them? How will getting rid of these 11 things change your life?

  1. More conflict with family – I’ve set boundaries and taken a step back to try to avoid more conflict in 2011.
  2. More big housing expenses like replacing the furnace and air conditioner – We knew these would go out soon, but we hoping to get a bit more life out of them. Anything else will be completely out of the blue, and I don’t know that we can avoid it.
  3. More procrastination on my sewing business – I need to make time each day to work on filling my etsy shop. I’ve had several custom orders now and know that I have a good product that people are willing to purchase.
  4. More middle of the night feedings – I’ve got to train this baby to sleep through the night since she is waking out of habit, not out of hunger.
  5. More yelling – I grew up in a house of yellers, so it is what comes naturally to me. I need to be more conscious of my reactions to things large and small.
  6. More swearing – I grew up in a house of swearers. I need to become more deliberate in my language.
  7. More “stuff” – I’ve become more aware of my accumulation over the last year, and I need to continue to limit what I bring into the house.
  8. More weight – I’ve had to work hard at losing this baby weight, much harder than ten years ago with baby #1. I need to continue to limit snacks, eat healthy and begin exercising.
  9. More TV and internet time – If I watched less TV I’d get a lot more done. I’m usually on the internet while I’m watching TV. I don’t spend nearly as much time on the computer if I’m not on the couch, so perhaps finding a spot for the computer on a counter kills two birds with one stone.
  10. More drama from volunteer positions – One volunteer position I served on for a couple of years was particularly fraught with unnecessary drama. I’ve left the position, so this resolved itself easily.
  11. More….not sure. I could only think of 1o!

Getting rid of the above will allow me to live a more peaceful, meaningful and deliberate life. I’ll also be able to move forward with goals I’ve set for myself.

I need to keep this list handy to refer to it.
